A particular care was brought to the decoration, to the furniture, to the dishes.
You will find various traditional handicrafts, books on Polynesia and Oceanian literature.
The neighborhood :
La Pointe des Pêcheurs or Pointe de Nu’uroa presents a great wealth: a pass, a freshwater spring receptacle, sea pits and a bay of marine mammals.
A wide navigation channel, the Nu’uroa pass, nowadays appreciated for its surf spot “SAPINUS”, was once used by large boats. On the north side of the Point, the Vaifau freshwater spring emerges from the sea, 5 meters below the surface, at the top of a coral peak.
This spring originates in Lake Vaifau, located on the left bank of the Punaru’u Valley.
Known for its fishy bottoms, its depths preciously shelter marine pits including a stingray pit (a ‘ĀPO’O FAI).
The Great Bay of Punaauia espousing the land with the symbolic name Vaiparaoa (The water of whales) or Teparaoa (the whale) welcomes every year whales and spinner dolphins that become, for the duration of a season, its privileged occupants.
